Paying for Fruits in Advance

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that when buying fruits, one should pay for a specified weight and for a definite time.

Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) reported that when Allah's Prophet came to Medina, they were paying one and two years in advance for fruits, so he said: Those who pay in advance for anything must do so for a specified weight and for a definite time.

QUICK LESSONS:
Paying for things in advance according to specific weights & times frames .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of paying for fruits in advance. When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ arrived in Medina, people were paying one or two years in advance for their fruits. The Prophet ﷺ then said that those who pay in advance must do so with a specified weight and definite time frame. This means that when you buy something, you should know exactly how much you are getting and how long it will last before it needs to be replaced or renewed. It also teaches us to be mindful of our spending habits and not overspend on things we don't need or can't afford. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to plan ahead and think about our future needs so we can make sure we have enough money saved up to cover them without having to borrow from others or take out loans.
