The Devotion of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Faith of Abdullah bin Rawaha

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his devotion to Allah, as well as the faith of Abdullah bin Rawaha in him.

Narrated Abu Huraira: That once Allah's Messenger (pbuh) said, "Your brother, ie 'Abdullah bin Rawaha does not say obscene (referring to his verses): Amongst us is Allah's Messenger , who recites His Book when it dawns. He showed us the guidance, after we were blind. We believe that whatever he says will come true. And he spends his nights in such a way as his sides do not touch his bed. While the pagans were deeply asleep".
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ أَبِي سِنَانٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ وَهُوَ يَقْصُصُ فِي قَصَصِهِ وَهُوَ يَذْكُرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَخًا لَكُمْ لاَ يَقُولُ الرَّفَثَ‏.‏ يَعْنِي بِذَلِكَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ رَوَاحَةَ وَفِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَتْلُو كِتَابَهُ إِذَا انْشَقَّ مَعْرُوفٌ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ سَاطِعُ أَرَانَا الْهُدَى بَعْدَ الْعَمَى فَقُلُوبُنَا بِهِ مُوقِنَاتٌ أَنَّ مَا قَالَ وَاقِعُ يَبِيتُ يُجَافِي جَنْبَهُ عَنْ فِرَاشِهِ إِذَا اسْتَثْقَلَتْ بِالْمُشْرِكِينَ الْمَضَاجِعُ تَابَعَهُ عُقَيْلٌ‏.‏ وَقَالَ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ وَالأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the devotion of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It highlights how he spent his nights in such a way that his sides did not touch his bed. It also speaks about the faith that Abdullah bin Rawaha had in him. He believed whatever he said would come true and was devoted to following Allah's guidance after being blind before. This hadith teaches us to have faith in Allah's Messenger and follow His guidance for our own benefit. We should strive to be devoted like the Prophet was so we can reap its rewards both here on earth and hereafter.
