EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about attaining salvation through following certain practices. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised a person who asked about salvation that he should observe five things in order to attain it. These five things are prayer, charity, fasting, performing the hajj pilgrimage and enjoining good and forbidding evil. Prayer is when one stands before Allah in humility with a sincere heart asking for His mercy and forgiveness. Charity is giving away some of one's wealth or possessions for the sake of Allah out of love for Him or out of compassion for those in need. Fasting means abstaining from food and drink during certain hours each day during the month of Ramadan as an act of worshiping Allah alone without any partners or idols beside Him. Performing the hajj pilgrimage means going on a journey to Makkah at least once in one's lifetime if they are able financially and physically able to do so as commanded by Allah in His book Quran as well as by His messenger Muhammad peace be upon him). Lastly enjoining good means encouraging people around us to do what is right according to Islamic teachings while forbidding evil means discouraging people from doing wrong according to Islamic teachings . All these five practices together will lead one towards attaining salvation if done sincerely with faith seeking only reward from Allah alone without any partners or idols beside Him .
