QUICK LESSONS:
Prioritize religious obligations over convenience or comfort ; Be mindful of direction when praying ; Fulfill prayer requirements correctly .
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Jabir bin 'Abdullah states that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to pray on his mount facing east. This was done for voluntary prayers, as it was easier for him while travelling. However, when it came time for obligatory prayers, he would dismount from his mount and face the Qibla in order to perform them properly. This hadith teaches us that we should prioritize our religious obligations over convenience or comfort when necessary. It also shows us how important it is to be mindful of our direction when praying; even if we are in a hurry or travelling, we must make sure that we are facing towards Mecca in order to fulfill our prayer requirements correctly.
