EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the permission given by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to contract temporary marriage, also known as Mut’ah in Arabic. This type of marriage is a contractual agreement between two parties that lasts for a specific period of time and can be renewed if both parties agree to it. It was practiced during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The purpose of this type of marriage was to provide an outlet for those who could not afford or were unable to enter into a permanent marital relationship due to various reasons such as poverty or lack of resources. It also provided an opportunity for those who wanted companionship without having any long term commitments or obligations towards each other. This hadith serves as an example that Islam allows people freedom in their personal lives while still maintaining certain moral values and principles which are essential for any society’s well being and prosperity.
