Sahih Muslim 1211ag (Book 15, Hadith 432) #10367
Compassion of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showing kindness and compassion to Safiyyah, a woman who was sad and downcast. He asked her if she had performed Tawaf Ifada on the Day of Nahr, and when she said yes, he told her to march on with them.

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: When Allah's Apostle decided to march (for return journey), he found Safiyyah at the door of her tent, sad and downcast. He remarked. Barren, shaven-head, you are going to detain us, and then said: Did you perform Tawaf Ifada on the Day of Nahr? She replied in the affirmative, whereupon he said: Then march on.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showed great compassion towards Safiyyah when he found her at the door of her tent feeling sad and downcast. He asked if she had performed Tawaf Ifada on the Day of Nahr, which is a ritual that involves walking around the Kaaba seven times in an anti-clockwise direction. When she said yes, he told her to march on with them. This hadith teaches us that we should always show kindness and compassion towards others regardless of their circumstances or situation in life. We should also strive to be mindful of our religious obligations so that we can benefit from Allah's mercy and grace. Furthermore, this hadith also reminds us that even small acts such as performing rituals can have a big impact in our lives as it allowed Safiyyah to join them for their journey back home.
