Hatem Ali, a Syrian director was born 1962, graduated from the higher institute of dramatic arts in Damascus 1986. He started his career writing dramatic texts and short stories; “Emra’a ma’ al-kanoon i.e. Woman with the law”, “Al-hessaan i.e. The horse” and “Al-kelaa’ i.e. The sail”. He also participated in writing “Aakher al-layl i.e. The end of the night”.

Hatem Ali directed the TV series “Omar,” which revolves around the life story of Islam’s second Caliph Omar ibn al-Khattab....
