Israeli Air Raid on Jabalia Refugee Camp

Gaza’s interior ministry reports the Jabalia refugee camp has been “completely destroyed” by Israeli bombardment. Israel's military has targeted Gaza's largest refugee camp - with devastating consequences.

At least 100 people have been killed and hundreds more badly wounded - in the Jabalia camp. 19 family members of Al Jazeera broadcast engineer Muhammad Abu Al-Qumusan were killed in that strike.

In a statement on Tuesday, Al Jazeera denounced what it called a “massacre” and an “unforgivable act” by Israeli forces.

Israel claims it killed a top Hamas commander in the attack. Hamas has denied an Israeli claim that one of its commanders was in Jabalia when an Israeli air attack struck the refugee camp earlier on Tuesday. In a statement on the messaging app Telegram, the group said the Israeli claim was “a baseless lie”.

Al Jazeera’s Resul Serdar reports.
