Statement by Rep. McKinney on Terror Warnings

Several weeks ago, I called for a congressional investigation into what warnings the Bush Administration received before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. I was derided by the White House, right wing talk radio, and spokespersons for the military-industrial complex as a conspiracy theorist. Even my patriotism was questioned because I dared to suggest that Congress should conduct a full and complete investigation into the most disastrous intelligence failure in American history. Georgia Senator Zell Miller even went so far as to characterize my call for hearings as "dangerous, loony and irresponsible."

Today's revelations that the administration, and President Bush, were given months of notice that a terrorist attack was a distinct possibility points out the critical need for a full and complete congressional investigation.

It now becomes clear why the Bush Administration has been vigorously opposing congressional hearings. The Bush Administration has been engaged in a conspiracy of silence. If committed and patriotic people had not been pushing for disclosure today's revelations would have been hidden by the White House.

Because I love my country, because I am a patriot, and because the American people deserve the truth, I believe it would be dangerous, loony and irresponsible not to hold full congressional hearings on any warnings the Bush Administration had before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Ever since I came to Congress in 1992, there are those who have been trying to silence my voice. I've been told to "sit down and shut up" over and over again.  Well, I won't sit down and I won't shut up until the full and unvarnished truth is placed before the American people.

Dear Leila Ahmed:
Why would you believe that President Bush would knowingly disregard information that would stop bloodthirsty morons from killing themselves and thousands of others for their own stupid delusional reasons? I don't care who is in office at the time, no President would knowingly do this. What about Clinton? Do you forget that during his Presidency some other bloodthirsty muslims tried to blow up the towers from below? Why did he allow that? It almost worked too.

Cynthia A. McKinney, I agree with everything that you have to say. Mr Bush probably thought nothing of it and might feel stupid now so he disregards the aligations that he knew of the attack ahead of time. This is utterly ignorant and foolish if he dosn't even care for his American peopel then why should he care what happens to The muslims that live there!

This issue makes me get upset but there is no point if i sit hear and don't try to help insh'allah i will try god willing

Thank God for patriotic AMERICANS like Congresswoman McKinney! ! Thank God for decency, truth and wisdom . . . all of God and in the heart of Ms. McKinney. NOPE this is not the state of israel and Ms. McKinney has EVERY right and the RESPONSIBILITY to AMERICANS and the world community to demand the answers to her (our)questions.

Rep. McKinney:
I find your assertion that President Bush is to blame for the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 and that he is involved in a sinister coverup is absurd and reprehensible. Your outrageous charge does not make you a patriot but merely underscores your partisan political views to the extreme. Moreover, your comments are an insult to the citizens of the United States.

May all those who murder people through suicides and other cowardly acts be brought to justice.

The very idea that our President knowingly allowed or shirked his responsbility and allowed a few bloodthirsty religious morons to crash planes into buildings is stupid!
You people will believe anything if someone tells you a Zionist was behind it!

Dear Ms. Mckinney:
Thank you for standing up to the right wing people of this country. There are very few like you that have stood for what is right and just. The recent revelations about Pres. Bush and 9/11 have proven you right. It seems they have a lot to hide. Keep up the good fight. May God bless you and reward you for your stand.

To the Honorable McKinney: You have a beautiful country and you should be very proud and patriotic. The American people have been kept in the dark for too long. It's wonderful to know that someone in the government cares enough to inform them of the truth. Especially where their safety is concerned. I tip my hat to you "you should not sit down instead stand up proudly and seek the truth." I believe that honesty is still the best policy. May God bless you with the truth and the strength to prevail. Mr. Bush and his Administration should stop pretending to be the good guys.

Dear Rep Mckinney
We need more people like you in the congress to stand up for the truth. I appericate your courage and encourge you to keep standing up for the truth. Truth will prevail.
Goodluck and wish you the best

Dear Rep. McKinney,

This is to let you know how much I appreciate your courageous work inside and
outside of US Congress in your fight against false and injustice. While other
so-called politicians are sold to the various interest groups, especially Zionist
lobby in the USA, you have single handedly spoken against those much
deserved issues.

Keep up the good work. You may be asked to shut down in the Congress, but
the true American patriots and people of conscience will always be with you.
