Double Vision

A long time ago, the world witnessed the birth of a nation, which was to become the greatest on the earth. Its founding fathers were men of great wisdom, and the foundation of this great nation was laid on the noble principles of liberty, equality, justice and fraternity for the people of all races who were citizens of the country. As civilization progressed, this remarkable nation got the other good qualities in its guiding principles that would make its people the kindest among the entire human race. They were the best in taking care of the poor. They protected the weak and the orphans. Over the years, they learned to cope with all troubles. These people would be among the first in the world to raise their voice against injustices practiced by other people.

All these qualities pleased God greatly. One day, one of the leaders of this nation had a strange vision. He was told that the leaders of this nation would be gifted by a rare insight, not found among other leaders of this world. They would be born with a vision, and they would perceive with their right eye the faults of his people and with the left eye the faults of the other people of the world. The leader was warned to keep both his eyes open to fill the world with justice and pass this good news to other leaders who would be elected after him. For a long time, everything went well. Armed with this unique gift, he saw the faults of his own people and those of others in the world. The leaders who came after him did likewise. Very soon, they came to be known as the leaders of the world, enjoining upon the people of the world on what was right and forbade them from evil.

One day, the new leader of this great country was told by his predecessor about this unique gift of God and passed on the tradition of double vision to him. The newly elected leader was extremely amused to hear this tradition. He joked about it to the leader who had conveyed the message to him. The previous leader, who had finished his term in the office, told his successor not to joke about such a serious matter for he had conveyed a fact to him and not a fairy tale. The new leader recognized this fact immediately on assuming office and what he saw with his right eye alarmed him a great deal. This powerful insight made him see his own faults and along with that those of his people. He did not like what he saw, for it made him feel ashamed. On the other hand, he liked very much what he saw with his left eye. With this insight, he saw the faults of other nations and its people. That indeed, was nice. He broke into a smile of delight for this was much better than seeing the faults of his own people. He immediately devised a solution by which he would stop watching faults with his right eye. He covered it with a black patch. He set about the task of correcting the other nations of the world. The nations of the world soon started competing with each other in pleasing the people of this great nation and its leader. They did not want to risk offending this mighty nation in any way.

Thus to this very day, the giant among the nations of this world, have gone through the world carrying on in this fashion, their leaders always wearing the black patch on their right eye, enjoining upon others right conduct and never following it themselves. Gradually the secret of this double vision enjoyed by the leaders of this great people came to be known to the world. From time to time well-meaning friends have tried to advise its leaders to remove the black patch over his right eye, but the elected leaders have consistently turned them down. Others in desperation have tried to snatch it away but have been totally unsuccessful. Whereas some others believe there is no point in removing this black patch. They think that all of its leaders have gone blind in the right eye for having deprived it of light during their long terms in their high offices.

A true parable which, unfortunately, the blind in one eye will not be able to read. By the way, the leaders you discuss are also deaf in both ears. Lack of vision and aural stimulation has resulted in atrophy of the brain, most evidenced in the current leader. These physical handicaps have, however, been compensated for by greater strength in the fist and the arm and a stronger will to dominate! Alhamdullillah, and may He protect us!

Asalaamu Alaikum,
I felt this in my heart. As a child, I naturally was blind the world beyond my home. Since I have matured into an adult, I have became sick to my stomach. The country that I live in has sanctions to other countries for their lack of human rights. The only difference between those countries and this one, is that we PRETEND to have HUMAN RIGHTS.
Our "Leader" speaks constantly abour FREEDOM, EQUALITY, JUSTICE, and HUMAN RIGHTS; however, he is NOT looking at the society beyond his own social class!!!
May Allah please guide us all to the straight path. Insha Allah, one day, I pray that the leaders of this World will open thier eyes and their hearts to what is happening to ALL the people of this world.

Being a relatively new Muslim & deeply at peace with
my personal Islamic religion, I cannot help but be
extremely disturbed by the fact that many in Islam want
the outside world to accept 'muslims' & Islam, while
many of the heads & leaders of the Muslim world are
corrupt. There has to be a way Islam can begin to be
practiced as originally handed down & practiced, by
whomever the correct vicegerents are (scholars, etc.).
They would be the TRUE example of Islam at its BEST!!
Where are they??? We need to acknowledge that we
are in a 'mess' and begin to take concrete steps (firm
foundation) to help rectify OUR (Islam's) part of the
situation. That, in my opinion would be the beginning of
a new age. It is RIGHT, that needs to prevail-not money,
deals, secret agreements, etc.

Any human on earth has the right to make mistake. Those who do not realise their mistake are either sleeping (not realising) or arrogant. In order to wake them up from their sleep and sense of arrogance, firstly, we must stop him from further distructions with our hands. Secondly, if he continues, we must advice him or speak-up to him (through forums, talks, writings, face to face). Thirdly, if we still failed, we seek the guidance from Allah through our prayers and doa to make him change his attitude. If these three are not workable, then let him be for Allah created both Haven and Hell for him to choose. He may be a great man of visions, have the globe placed under his feet, one thing to remember, he is only a little creature crawling on this earth, eat and sleep just like us, go to toilet just like us. In the eyes of Allah, he is nothing for he shall live on earth for a limited number of years. Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) only lived for 63 years. Those who lived beyond 63 is a bonus fron Allah to give a chance to repent. Only Allah knew the unknown.

Assalamu Alaikum,

Dear Brothers,

The story is a very good exemple for people who see only the faults of others and forget their owns, and this is a character of arrogant and unfaithful people, they see things only through one single eye and they think that they are the only one who are right, to mention some examples from the Glorious Qur'an:The story of Faraoh and Moses PBUH When the latest told his people:

"O my People! yours is the dominion this day: ye have the upper hand in the land: but who will help us from the Punishment of Allah, should it befall us?"

Pharaoh said: "I but point out to you that which I see (myself); nor do I guide you but to the Path of Right!" Qur'an (24-29)

Everybody knows what kind of a ruler Faraoh was! a tyrant ruler who claimed even Godhood,a wrong dooer, a killer of innocent children...

" Is he, then, to whom the evil of his conduct is made alluring, so that he looks upon it as good, (equal to one who is rightly guided)? For Allah leaves to stray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So let not thy soul go out in (vainly) sighing after them: for Allah knows well all that they do! Qur'an (22-8)

One of the hateful things to God is when sombody advises others to do good and abstaining from doing evil while forgetting himself, God says:

"Grievously odious is it in the sight of Allah that ye say that which ye do not."
Qur'an 28-3),

All what I can say now is to pray to Almighty Allah to guide all of us, our leaders and the leaders of the so called "the new world order" to his strait path, to be honnest and to behave with justice with all people of al nations and if they refute then let them know the following:

Think not that Allah doth not heed the deeds of those who do wrong. He but giveth them respite against a Day when the eyes will fixedly stare in horror. Qur'an (14-42)

Wassalam Alaikum (Peace be with you)

While the intention is good in this story, I think you miss a very important point. (If I am correct to assume that this 'great nation' you speak of is the United States). This nation was not built on the foundations of the "noble principles of liberty, equality, justice and fraternity for the people of all races who were citizens of the country." Wrong. In the beginning the Constitution failed to recognize the humanity of the African slaves on whose blood and sweat the financial prosperity of this country was built. Nor did it recognize the humanity of the inhabitants of the continent, the Native Americans. This country was built on the very foundations of injustice. It has only been with work and great struggle that this nation has come to rely on these principles of justice by which it claims to today. And even today, as your story stated, it is still struggling not to just 'talk to talk' of those words of justice, but to 'walk the walk'. And this is where the nation is blind. In fact there are no perfect nations in the world-and there will cease to ever be unless we get back to the basics of faith, humanity, love, charity, and justice to name a few.
America is not a utopia, and neither is any other nation on this earth.
There willnever be any unty among Muslims or any other peoples for that matter until we learn to tolerate and live with one another. We Muslims can't even tolerate one another, let alone live and understand one another. If we don't do some serious reflection on ourselves, and why we are in this position today as an Ummah, there will never be peace anywhere on Earth. We have to get pass our cultural, racial, and soical setbacks and get back to the basics- to our true purpose here on this earth. No one group of Muslims is perfect and every group is not going to agree. Once we understand this and appreciate our uniqueness is when we as an Ummah will prosper and find and establish peace on this Earth. Masalaama.

This is a very good article. I'm sure anyone
who have read it will definitely have a
particular country in mind. But lets sit down
and think about it. Maybe we should keep our
mind open and see how, not just that
particular country should be blamed but many
others too.

I'm a Muslim and I have to say that I'm still very
naive with the teaching of Islam. But it's sad to
see how some fellow Muslims would/have
actually stain(ed) the purity of Islam. Islam is
pure and that's what everyone should know.

My advice is (like I've told my best friend who
happened not be a Muslim): don't point a
finger unless you have deep knowledge on
the other person's faith. My friends and I have
use our time wisely to seek and understand
the differences in our faith to keep us going in
this life we live in. Maybe you should too.

From Aviation Week and Space Technology Sourcebook 2002, a reputable Aviation publication by McGraw-Hill, Israel has 239 F16s, 210 F4s, 117 Fi5s and 109 helicopters. This for a country with a population of less than that of New York City. AW&ST Sept 10, P25 shows that the 5th order of 50 F16s was placed Jan 2000 and the 6th order, for 52 F16, in Sept of 2001. This last order was worth $2B to the US, probably largely paid for with our foreign aid to Israel. Have you ever seen the Palestinian Air Force? Neither has anyone else. I quote from a Tom Clancy book "You can't build a civilized country on a foundation of murder". I find this obscene, not only for the murders committed with all this armament, but also due to wretched excess. Is it now wonder that we are looked down upon by the non-terrorist Muslim world for our part in maintaining the senseless slaughter in the middle east? I never believed in the US military-industrial complex before but this certainly is an example of it. When will it end?

I fear that this story can be applied to all of the faculties of this giant leader, who neither sees, hears, nor indeed is interested in the less fortunate of this world. The recent events of the ''war against terror'' have shown innocent people dying at the hands of terrorists, and then innocent people further dying at the hands of ''peace keepers''. We have seen people imprisoned without trial both in the UK and the US, these people are denied of their most basic human rights.

As a British National I am struggling to maintain any loyalty in my heart, to the Country I have lived in for my entire life. I am repulsed by its blind unquestioning support to a nation who is neither interested in international justice, nor cares about what the rest of the world thinks about its actions. This giant has, on more than one occaision, made it clear that it will take any action it sees fit to attain its objectives against any nation who opposes it, regardless of their cause or reason.

I truly beleive that I am not alone in thinking that it is only a matter of time before one playing the role of David, will enact a well known parable to one playing the role of giant.

Quality is given to some one or some thing and is accounted for every one or every thing even for Leaders !

Leaders should have Not any Idea-logy ! True...one characteristics for any leader is to have a vision...and generally after him, his vision turns into an ideology for next or others...

Nothing neither a nation nor a family can be ruled by ideology. None of Leaders should have any idea of themselves !

Leaders should Be Not Missionaries !

Leaders should make feel their existence even to a child of that nation !!

how can you suport aggressors and armies that surrounds and imprison entire nation and people including their elected president and at the same time demand of him to stop terrorism while he and his entire nation are facing terror and distruction day after day not to mention murdering leaders one after the other , what is considered a terrorist in your eyes is a leader and freedom fighter to them . using a different weapon than yours but in the end it is a weapon and since a war is been fought some are using F 16 others are using their bodies and lives to fight back. the dead on both sides in the end it is human lives and civilians from both ends . for god's sake open the other eye for complete vision so we may end this occupation and let those 2 nations and one people live in peace side by side as it is the only way we can have an end to this human suffering to both sides , please see and watch this . the palastanians have nothing left to loose as they lost their homes ,their children and their fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters and all they have left for them to restore is their dignit and honour.

Real justice is by looking at faults of self nation as well as other nations. Today ruling nations have double standards. they have different vision for themselves and others. Allh in Quran says you do justice and I would give to soverignity.

The nations who would be fair to themselves as well as others thus would gain sovergnity over others in coming times. Russions charcter in Chachnia to occopy the land of others, Americans charcter to allow Israil to occopy the land of Plestenions and Europens allowing Sarbs to kill humans indicates that all these nations would be deprived of soveregnity over other nations in the recent century. Muslims lost power and soverignity as they stopped doing justice. New generation is coming back to Gods original message i.e to do real justice to all humans. Real justice does not allow any knind of discrimination or terrorism. If Muslims will caryy out the God directives to do justice then they would gain soverignity to other nations in future. God directives to do justice are availabel in all religions, Islam Christianity, Jews etc. Unfortunatly we the inhabitiants of earth have changed the message and we are devided into different religions and nationalities. God message is same to all.

When the time past the constitution which was composed by the Founding Fathers become completely useless for it had nothing related to truth and reality, and the religion of reality. Now this nation has nothing to defend in front of the Religion of Reality and Truth. For this nation there is only one way out; to accept the Religion of Reality and re-compose their constitution according to it. Otherwise, this nation's leadership has come to the end of its term, no leaders with no magic can reverse this process back. I know this is very hard to accept, but it is real. The problem with this nation is she is not ready to accept the reality because its constitution is based on a false religion. As the writer of this article either they cannot see that for they are blind or deaf, or willingly they don't want to see it.
The truth is the Founding Fathers were wrong from the very beginning to compose the Constitution based on a false religion of their invention.
With Peace.

This is a very beautiful parable. It is refreshing to read a creative answer to America's abuse of its tremendous power. Such a parable is worthy of the Rightly Guided Caliphs and the Prophet himself (PBUH!). Thank you for demonstrating that Islam is still a fresh and growing faith capable of giving us a moral response to the problems we face on this Earth, and that my decision to convert to it and join a true Ummah of Muslims was right.

Only God Almighty, Lord of the Universes can make that happen now, for leaders of far too many nations have gone too far astray from the Right Path (There is such a thing you know).

The fact is that for the first time in the history of this planet, we have not one Ghengis Khan, one Timurlane, one king Alexander, one Napolean, one Hitler, spreading havoc in one part of the earth, but there are dozens upon dozens of evil persons who have taken control of high offices simultaneously! Everywhere we turn our eyes these days, we find a Great Satan in the sky.

May the Lord have mercy on us all! Ma Salaam!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the eyes of the leaders of this nation, but what is wrong is the Constitution of this nation which allows such a leadership taking place as their leaders. What this nation has to do is to revise their constitution according to the reality and the truth to be able to establish justice according to them. This is possible only if this nations wills so, but they will NOT unless Allah wills.

I think that this is the best web site i have come across. We are truly lost through blind people, not just leaders but the Muslims throughout the world!!! We must come back to our faiths, and pray to Allah, He is capable of everything, nothing goes past Him without his knowledge. We as a nation of Islam have lost Allah. Islam is a religion of peace and justice, what justice have we shown to our own people. We are the ones that have the eye patch not the leaders! May Allah make it easier for us, and may He guide the unjust leaders Amin

Thank you. May Allah bless you with more wisdom(Ameen. This article would be better understood by those leaders (alife, serving and not serving). Most important the immediate subjects over whom they govern and then the rest of the world. Perhaps, with Allahs will the public in general will make them change.

Very appropriate words. Do you think the words you wrote for all to read was yours alone? There is only one way for us to see and that calls for two eyes. Words will begin the removal of the patch and for what is to come all would want to see with both eyes. The knowledge of those in high office was held over us during the years past but we are connecting to that knowledge my brothers and sisters. Islam is the sword weilded upon those that defy the will of God and Israel were told this in advance(Jer:31 thru 34 will give you a time table and understanding)even if they are Gods choosen people. Do you see the contridiction Islam. Each make up the body of Islam and from the individual to the body as a whole Islam is not fullfilling its obligation because it also wears the patch. Understand this as a truth. Like three flours(Christianity, Islam, ,Judaism) being neaded together to make a loaf of bread there comes an end to that neading so be aware of the time table before you and form into that body Islam. We are forming into a bodt my brothers and sisters but can an unborn child see the reality of the world awaiting. Think...all I ask of you for now. Think of it like this if you can..GOD is like a master server connecte to all. He connected to the Prophets and those that have given us our biblical history but the rest of the peoples who are all religions do not understand the connection all share with our God...but God has been there with us for every step, every breath, every word you have taken thus far in your lives. I am a Roman Catholic yet I know Islam better than Islam knows itself yet I have never read the bible or religious text. There is a oneness all are to experience and until the patch comes off Islam you will only have a part of it lacking in the understanding of the whole, the One. Who is coming and who weild the sword that is Islam. Think..that is all I ask Take care and stay safe out there..it does get better for all peoples who are all religions.

[Quran]

This verse in the Quran explicitly tells the beleivers not to be passive but to exert themselves fully to implement islamic system on the earth and make Allah's words the highest. But ever since the last khilafah was destroyed in 1924 muslims have declined in islamic thought and have seperated deen from life.So Islam is today reduced to a set of rituals and habits just like christianity. The political side of Islam is missing badly. This is because todays Muslim politicians tells us that politics is a dirty business. And just see these so called islamic websites;the only thing we can see in them are articles about 'soul purification'.Some misguided folks have even gone to the extent of writing islamic manner of having intimacy as the biggest goal in life. Some even depict Prophet Sallalahu alaihi wassalam as some 'holy man' who was only concerned about rituals. Some others when they talk about Prophet sallalahu allaihi wassalam simply talk about how good a father or husband he was. They dont mention that he was also a great leader who was interested in all affairs of the islamic ummah. But those folks since sept11th have been afflicted with foot-in-mouth disease. The only site which presents the right views about political islam is www.khilafah.com.All the other sites are quite useless as they expect the muslims to adhere to a set of rituals and then expect Islam to produce a magic.

Prophet Sallalahu alaihi wassalam said:Live in this world as if you will live forever, live for the next world as if you will die tomorrow.
