On the evening of 24th July 2017, Inminds human rights group carried out a guerilla projection on Marble Arch, the iconic London landmark at the start of Oxford Street - Europe's busiest shopping street with its half a million daily visitors. The projection was in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle to save the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem from Israeli military control, Judaisation and ethnic cleansing.

Following a shoot-out 11 days ago in which 3 Palestinians were executed by Israeli settlers and soldiers (two of whom also died), Israel has closed the Al Aqsa Mosque as collective punishment. The 3 Palestinians were left to bleed to death with medics being refused access to them. All the Mosque staff were thrown out, some being detained by the occupation forces.

Inminds chair Abbas Ali explained "With the Mosque emptied, Israel put into action its plan to totally take over the Mosque, to ethnically cleanse and Judaise the Al Aqsa Mosque compound, like it did before with the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al Khalil which today is restricted to Palestinians, but open to illegal Israeli settlers.

The first stage was to install control apparatus like checkpoints with metal detectors at all its entrances and cameras installed though out the compound to exert totall Israeli control over every inch of the Mosque compound.

Israel claimed the installation of metal detectors are for security, but the reality is it’s a mechanism to bar Palestinians from their own place of worship. Some 30,000 worshippers, which swells to 400,000 in Ramadan, would need to go through the dozen or so metal detectors installed by Israel in the 15 minutes between the time of call of prayer and start of prayers.. which is impossible, and would result in worshippers being crushed to death trying to enter the mosque.

Having closed Al Aqsa to Palestinians, the second stage of this Judaisation of Al Aqsa is to open it up for Jewish colonists.. and Israel has wasted no time.. just yesterday - on Sunday 23rs July Israel allowed over 100 illegal Israeli settlers to invade the Al Aqsa mosque under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

Hand in hand with this invasion of the Al Aqsa mosque, Israeli deputy mayor of Jerusalem on Saturday announced approval of the construction of 859 new illegal settlement units to be built on stolen Palestinian land in Jerusalem, near the Al Aqsa Mosque - this is in addition to the already approved 639 illegal settlement units in Jerusalem's illegal Gilo and Pisgat Ze'ev settlements."

These Israeli provocations have led to Palestinians rising up to defend the Al Aqsa mosque. Israel has brutally attempted to crush all protests with the Red Crescent reporting 3 Palestinians being killed (including two teenagers) and over 900 Palestinians seriously injured by Israel's use of live bullets, rubber coated metal bullets and gas canisters on protestors in the last 10 day. Worshippers have been sprayed with faeces and rotten stenched skunk water as they tried to pray near the Al Aqsa Mosque.

Scores of Palestinians have been abducted right across the West Bank, including two young girls for just posting against the occupation of Al Aqsa on social media, and one Imam simply for praying 'bad things' against Israeli occupation forces. Soldiers have invaded Al Makassed Palestinian hospital in Jerusalem to abduct those already injured by their weapons. Photos have emerged of abducted youngsters like 18 years old Maadaz Wa'el Arafat Sa'ida having been tortured by Israel soldiers.

Inminds chair Abbas Ali concluded "We salute and stand in solidarity with the thousands of Palestinians in Jerusalem who are sacrificing themselves to defend sacred Al Aqsa."
