8 year old memorizes Koran and raises funds for Syria

An eight-year-old girl has amassed thousands of Facebook followers after memorising the entire Koran in Arabic.

Maariya Aslam from Luton began memorising the Islamic holy book from the age of five and completed it two years later.

Along the way she has has raised thousands of pounds for children in Syria.
