A Powerful Easter Sermon by Rev. Munther Isaac


Rev. Munther Isaac, a Palestinian Christian pastor and theologian, currently serves as the pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem and the Lutheran Church in Beit Sahour. Additionally, he holds the position of academic dean at Bethlehem Bible College and is renowned as the director of the esteemed Christ at the Checkpoint conferences. Passionate about issues pertaining to Palestinian theology, Munther is deeply engaged in local and international discourse.

With a commitment to fostering understanding, Munther speaks globally and has authored numerous articles exploring themes such as the theology of the land, Palestinian Christians, holistic mission, and reconciliation. He is the acclaimed author of several books, including "The Other Side of the Wall," "From Land to Lands, from Eden to the Renewed Earth," and "An Introduction to Palestinian Theology" (in Arabic). Additionally, he has contributed a commentary on the book of Daniel and recently published a book on women's ordination in the church, also in Arabic. Actively involved in reconciliation and interfaith initiatives, Munther serves as a board member of Kairos Palestine.

Munther's academic journey began with studies in civil engineering at Birzeit University in Palestine. He later pursued a Master's in Biblical Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary and earned a PhD from the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Munther is devoted to his family. He is married to Rudaina, an architect, and together they have two sons: Karam (11) and Zaid (9).
