“Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah... of these, four are sacred...” (Quran 9:36)
“...So do not wrong yourselves during them...” (Quran 9:36) indicates that extra care should be taken not to commit sins during sacred months.
Ibn Kathir explains in his tafsir of Quran 9:36 that the four sacred months are Dhul-Qi’dah, Dhul-Hijjah, Muharram, and Rajab.
Acts of worship like fasting, repentance, and Quran recitation are encouraged during Rajab as preparation for Ramadan. (Bukhari 2840; Ibn Majah 4250)
While there is no explicit evidence in the Quran or Hadith confirming the exact date, many Islamic scholars and historians traditionally associate Isra and Mi’raj with the 27th night of Rajab.
