As mentioned in the Quran, "If you are grateful, I will surely increase your favor upon you; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe." (Quran, 14:7)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah.” (Tirmidhi) Gratitude to Allah leads to rewards in both this world and the Hereafter.
Showing gratitude to Allah involves fulfilling His obligations (such as the five daily prayers), staying away from prohibited actions, and expressing gratitude through actions, not just words.
In the Quran, Allah says: “And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed: 'If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more; but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is severe.’” (Quran, 14:7) Allah not only wants us to be grateful but also provides us with the ability to express that gratitude properly.
Allah reminds us in the Quran: “O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” (Quran, 2:153) Gratitude during hardship involves patience and trust in Allah’s wisdom.
