Al-A'raf (The Heights) - 7:189

[Children] [Man:creation of] [Marriage] [Women:in pregnancy]

IT IS HE who has created you [all] out of one living entity, and out of it brought into being its mate, so that man might incline [with love] towards woman. And so, when he has embraced her, she conceives [what at first is] a light burden, and continues to bear it. Then, when she grows heavy [with child], they both call unto God, their Sustainer, "If Thou indeed grant us a sound [child], we shall most certainly be among the grateful!" - 7:189 (Asad) -

Luqman (Luqman) - 31:14

[Luqman] [Mothers] [Parents:being good to] [Women:in pregnancy]

“And [God says:] ‘We have enjoined upon man goodness towards his parents: his mother bore him by bearing strain upon strain, and his utter dependence on her lasted two years: [hence, O man,] be grateful towards Me and towards thy parents, [and remember that] with Me is all journeys’ end. - 31:14 (Asad) -

Az-Zumar (The Groups) - 39:6

[Allah:no god but He] [Allah:shapes you in the wombs] [Allah's attributes:Cherisher and Sustainer] [Cattle] [Man:creation of] [Mankind:unity of] [Mothers] [Wombs] [Women:in pregnancy]

He has created you [all] out of one living entity, and out of it fashioned its mate; and he has bestowed upon you four kinds of cattle of either sex; [and] He creates you in your mothers’ wombs, one act of creation after another, in threefold depths of darkness. Thus is God, your Sustainer: unto Him belongs all dominion: there is no deity save Him: how, then, can you lose sight of the truth? - 39:6 (Asad) -

Fussilat (Explained in Detail) - 41:47

[Allah's knowledge] [Dates and date palms] [Day of judgment:appointed time of the Hour] [Deities of Pagans] [False gods] [Women:in pregnancy]

In Him alone is vested the knowledge of when the Last Hour will come. And no fruit bursts forth from its calyx, and no female ever conceives, nor ever gives birth, save with His knowledge. And so, on the Day when He shall call out to them, “Where, now, are those [alleged] partners of Mine?” - they will [surely] answer, “We confess unto Thee that none of us can bear witness [to anyone’s having a share in Thy divinity]!” - 41:47 (Asad) -

Al-Ahqaf (The Curved Sandhills) - 46:15

[Allah's favours gratitude for:gratitude for] [Children] [Forty year old man prayer of] [Gardens of Paradise:drink in] [Gratitude] [Life] [Man:stages of growth] [Mothers] [Muslims] [Parents:being good to] [Prayer (Dua)] [Repentance] [Women:in pregnancy]

NOW [among the best of the deeds which] We have enjoined upon man is goodness towards his parents. In pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth; and her bearing him and his utter dependence on her took thirty months. and so, when he attains to full maturity and reaches forty years, he [that is righteous] prays: “O my Sustainer! Inspire me so that I may forever be grateful for those blessings of Thine with which Thou hast graced me and my parents, and that I may do what is right [in a manner] that will meet with Thy goodly acceptance; and grant me righteousness in my offspring [as well]. Verily, unto Thee have I turned in repentance: for, verily, I am of those who have surrendered themselves unto Thee!” - 46:15 (Asad) -

[Divorce] [Fear of Allah] [Iddah] [Women:in pregnancy]

Now as for such of your women as are beyond, the age of monthly courses, as well as for such as do not have any courses, their waiting-period - if you have any doubt [about it] - shall be three [calendar] months; and as for those who are with child, the end of their waiting-term shall come when they deliver their burden. And for everyone who is conscious of God, He makes it easy to obey His commandment: - 65:4 (Asad) -

At-Talaq (The Divorce) - 65:6

[Children:after divorce] [Divorce] [Iddah] [Women:in pregnancy] [Women]

[Hence,] let the women [who are undergoing a waiting-period] live in the same manner as you live yourselves, In accordance with your means; and do not harass them with a view to making their lives a misery. And if they happen to be with child, spend freely on them until they deliver their burden; and if they nurse your offspring [after the divorce has become final], give them their [due] recompense; and take counsel with one another in a fair manner [about the child's future]. And if both of you find it difficult [that the mother should nurse the child], let another woman nurse it on behalf of him [who has begotten it]. - 65:6 (Asad) -
