True piety does not consist in turning your faces towards the east or the west - but truly pious is he who believes in God, and the Last Day; and the angels, and revelation, and the prophets; and spends his substance - however much he himself may cherish - it - upon his near of kin, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and the beggars, and for the freeing of human beings from bondage; and is constant in prayer, and renders the purifying dues; and [truly pious are] they who keep their promises whenever they promise, and are patient in misfortune and hardship and in time of peril: it is they that have proved themselves true, and it is they, they who are conscious of God. - 2:177 (Asad) -

Al-Baqara (The Cow) - 2:285

THE APOSTLE, and the believers with him, believe in what has been bestowed upon him from on high by his Sustainer: they all believe in God, and His angels, and His revelations, and His apostles, making no distinction between any of His apostles; and they say: We have heard, and we pay heed. Grant us Thy forgiveness, O our Sustainer, for with Thee is all journeys' end! - 2:285 (Asad) -

Al-Imran (The Family of Imran) - 3:179

[Messengers:belief in]

It is not God's will [O you who deny the truth] to abandon the believers to your way of life: [and] to that end He will set apart the bad from the good. And it is not God's will to give you insight into that which is beyond the reach of human perception: but [to that end] God elects whomsoever He wills from among His apostles. Believe, then, in God and His apostles; for if you believe and are conscious of Him, a magnificent requital awaits you. - 3:179 (Asad) -

An-Nisa (The Women) - 4:171

[Allah:Glory be to Him] [Allah:has no son] [Allah:is sufficient] [Allah:to Him belongs all in the heavens and on earth] [Allah:to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth] [Allah's attributes:Disposer of affairs] [Allah's attributes:One God] [Excess forbidden:in religion] [Jesus:no more than a Messenger] [Mary] [Messengers:belief in] [People of the Book] [Trinity doctrine of rejected]

O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. - 4:171 (Asad) -

Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread) - 5:12

[Allah:seek sustenance from Him] [Charity [zakah]:a beautiful loan to Allah] [Charity [zakah]] [Children of Israel] [Covenant:of the Children of Israel] [Kabah] [Messengers:belief in]

AND, INDEED, God accepted a [similar] solemn pledge from the children of Israel when We caused twelve of their leaders to be sent [to Canaan as spies]. And God said: "Behold, I shall be with you! If you are constant in prayer, and spend in charity, and believe in My apostles and aid them, and offer up unto God a goodly loan, I will surely efface your bad deeds and bring you into gardens through which running waters flow. But he from among you who, after this, denies the truth, will indeed have strayed from the right path!" - 5:12 (Asad) -

Al-Hadid (Iron) - 57:19

[Believers:rewarded] [Light:of the Believers] [Messengers:belief in] [Sincerity] [Unbelievers:fuel for the Fire (Companions of the Fire)]

For, they who have attained to faith in God and His Apostle - it is they, they who uphold the truth, and they who bear witness [thereto] before God: [and so] they shall have their reward and their light! But as for those who are bent on denying the truth and on giving the lie to Our messages - it is they who are destined for the blazing fire! - 57:19 (Asad) -

Al-Hadid (Iron) - 57:21

[Allah's attributes:full of bounty] [Allah's attributes:Lord of grace abounding] [Allah's Bounty] [Gardens of Bliss and Felicity ( and Delights Naim ):width of the heaven and earth] [Messengers:belief in]

[Hence,] vie with one another in seeking to attain to your Sustainerís forgiveness, and [thus] to a paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, which has been readied for those who have attained to faith in God and His Apostle: such is the bounty of God which He grants unto whomever He wills - for God is limitless in His great bounty. - 57:21 (Asad) -
