Applying Perfume to the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: Applying perfume to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was a practice of 'A'isha (may Allah be pleased with her).

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) said: I applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah as he became free from Ihram and as he entered upon it.
وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، - رضى الله عنها - قَالَتْ طَيَّبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لِحِلِّهِ وَلِحِرْمِهِ‏.‏
