Perform acts such as fasting or performing Hajj in remembrance of loved ones who have passed away; give charity in their name so they can benefit from it even after they have passed away; fulfill religious obligations with sincerity and devotion; show respect towards deceased relatives; gain reward from Allah SWT through good deeds done in remembrance of loved ones who have passed away .

This hadith speaks to the importance of fulfilling religious obligations for our deceased relatives. It tells us that when a woman came to Prophet Muhammad and told him that her mother had passed away and she had gifted her a maid-servant, he said that there was a definite reward for her and that the maid-servant was returned to her as an inheritance. When she asked if she should observe fasts on behalf of her mother, he said yes, and when she asked if she should perform Hajj on behalf of her mother, he said yes again. This teaches us that it is important to fulfill religious obligations for our deceased relatives in order to gain reward from Allah SWT and also out of respect for them. We can do this by performing acts such as fasting or performing Hajj in their name or giving charity in their name so they can benefit from it even after they have passed away.
