QUICK LESSONS:
Observe fast on the Day of 'Ashura .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Abu Musa states that the Jews respected and treated the day of 'Ashura as an important holiday. In response to this, Prophet Muhammad instructed Muslims to also observe fasting on this day. This hadith teaches us that we should respect and honor days that are important in other religions as well. It also encourages us to practice fasting as it is one of the five pillars of Islam and is a way for us to connect with Allah SWT. Additionally, it reminds us that we should not blindly follow traditions without understanding their significance or purpose; rather we should strive to understand why certain practices are done in order for our faith and worship towards Allah SWT to be meaningful.
