Sahih Muslim 1111b (Book 13, Hadith 102) #9741
The Prophet's Reaction to a Basket of Dates

SUMMARY: This hadith is about a basket of dates being brought to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and how he reacted to it.

A hadith like this has been narrated on the authority of Muhammad b. Muslim al-Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters, and he said: There was brought an 'araq containing dates, an 'araq being a huge basket. But in this hadith no mention has been made of (the fact) that the Messenger of Allah laughed till his molar teeth became visible.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be thankful for blessings no matter how small they may seem.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an incident that happened during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). A basket full of dates was brought to him, and upon seeing it, he laughed so much that his molar teeth became visible. This shows us how happy and content the Prophet was with what Allah had blessed him with. He was grateful for even small things like this, which teaches us that we should be thankful for whatever Allah has given us no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. We should also remember that our happiness should come from within ourselves rather than from materialistic possessions or worldly pleasures as these are temporary and can never bring true joy in life.
