Sahih Muslim 1102b (Book 13, Hadith 70) #9709
Continuous Fasting During Ramadan

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) fasted continuously during Ramadan, but he forbade his followers from doing the same as he was provided with food and drink by Allah.

Ibn 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah observed fasts uninterruptedly in Ramadan and the people (in his wake) did this. But he forbade them to do so. It was said to him (to the Holy Prophet): You yourself observe the fasts uninterruptedly (but you forbid us to do so) Upon this he said: I am not like you; I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah).

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ observed fasts in the month of Ramadan without taking any breaks. He encouraged his followers to do the same, however, he also warned them not to do so as they were not like him and did not receive sustenance from Allah like him. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to follow in the footsteps of our beloved Prophet ﷺ but at the same time be mindful of our own limitations and abilities. We should also remember that Allah is always providing for us and will never leave us wanting for anything.
