SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forbade uninterrupted fasting and explained that he was not like the rest of the people as he was fed and supplied drink by Allah.

Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with both of them) said that the Messenger of Allah forbade uninterrupted fasting. They (some of the Companions) said: You yourself fast uninterruptedly, whereupon he said: I am not like you. I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah).

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ibn 'Umar states that the Prophet Muhammad forbade uninterrupted fasting. He clarified that this prohibition did not apply to him as he was fed and supplied drink by Allah. This hadith teaches us about the importance of moderation in our religious practices. We should strive to follow a balanced lifestyle which includes both spiritual and physical health. It also reminds us to be grateful for all the blessings we have been given from Allah, including food and drink. We should remember that we are not like the Prophet Muhammad in terms of his special status with Allah so we should not try to imitate him in every aspect of life but rather take lessons from his teachings and strive for balance in our lives.
