QUICK LESSONS:
Remember those who have passed away with love and respect; Pray for their forgiveness; Make dua for them.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how a person who has passed away can be punished due to people's reactions and behavior towards them. It was narrated by Ibn 'Umar, who reported that when Umar was wounded and fainted, there was a loud lamentation over him. When he regained consciousness he said that this reaction goes against what Prophet Muhammad said - that "The dead is punished because of the weeping of the living". This hadith teaches us not to cry excessively for someone who has passed away as it can lead to their punishment in afterlife. Instead, we should remember them with love and respect, pray for their forgiveness and make dua for them.
