Sahih Muslim 925 (Book 11, Hadith 16) #9286
Compassionate Visit of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showed concern for a fellow Ansari and visited him despite having no shoes, socks, caps or shirts.

'Abdullah b. 'Umar reported: While we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah , a person, one of the Ansar, came to him and greeted him. The Ansari then turned back. Upon this the Messenger of Allah said: o brother of Ansar, how is my brother Sa'd be 'Ubada? He said: He is better. The Messenger of Allah said: Who amongst you would visit him? He (the Holy Prophet) stood up and we also got up along with him, and we were more than ten persons. We had neither shoes with us, nor socks, nor caps, nor shirts. We walked on the barren land till we came to him. The people around him kept away till the Messenger of Allah and his Companions with him came near him (Sa'd b. 'Ubada).

QUICK LESSONS:
Show kindness towards your neighbors regardless of their social status or background .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the compassion and kindness of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). It narrates an incident where a man from the Ansar tribe came to greet him and then left. The Prophet asked about his well-being and offered to visit him. He then gathered ten companions with him, none of whom had any shoes or other clothing items on them, and they walked together until they reached Sa'd ibn 'Ubada's house. When they arrived, everyone around Sa'd kept their distance until the Prophet arrived with his companions. This story shows us how much care and concern the Prophet had for others in his community; he was willing to go out of his way to show kindness even if it meant walking barefoot in order to do so! It also teaches us that we should always be kind towards our neighbors regardless of their social status or background; this is something that all children can learn from this hadith as well!
