Praying for Rain in the Direction of Qibla

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prayed for rain and faced the Qibla while wearing a mantle.

Ibn Tamim narrated on the authority of his uncle ('Abdullah b. Zaid) that the Messenger of Allah went out to the place of prayer and prayed for rain and faced towards Qibla, and turned round his mantle and prayed two rak'ahs.
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، قَالَ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَاسْتَسْقَى وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَقَلَبَ رِدَاءَهُ وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an incident where Prophet Muhammad PBUH went out to pray for rain and faced towards the direction of prayer, known as Qiblah. He also wore a mantle or cloak known as Kiswa during this prayer. This hadith teaches us that when we are in need, we should turn to Allah SWT with sincere supplication and ask Him for help. We should also remember to be humble and wear modest clothing when praying to Allah SWT. Furthermore, it is important that we always face towards the direction of prayer when making supplications or performing any kind of worship such as salat or namaz.
