'Abdullah b. Zaid b. Mazini reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to the place of prayer and prayed for rain and turned round his mantle while facing the Qibla.
The act of praying for rain also serves as a reminder that we are dependent on Allah's mercy and grace at all times; He alone has control over our lives and our environment so we must always turn to Him in times of need or difficulty. Additionally, this hadith teaches us about humility; even though Prophet Muhammad PBUH was one of the most powerful people on earth at that time he still humbled himself before God by turning his mantle around himself while praying for rain - an act which shows us how important it is to remain humble no matter what our station may be in life.
