Observing Two Rak'ahs After Friday Prayer

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) observing two rak'ahs after coming back from Friday prayer.

Nafi' reported that when 'Abdullah (b'.Umar) observed the Friday prayer and came back he observed two rak'ahs in his house, and then said: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) used to do this.
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ، قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى الْجُمُعَةَ انْصَرَفَ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ فِي بَيْتِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of supplication and prostration in Islam. It is narrated by Nafi’ who reported that when Abdullah ibn Umar observed the Friday prayer and came back he observed two rak’ahs in his house. This was a practice of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, which shows us how important it is to make supplications and prostrations even after performing our obligatory prayers. It also teaches us that we should follow the example of our beloved prophet as much as possible so that we can gain closeness to Allah Almighty.
