Prohibiting Prayer at Certain Times

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad prohibited praying after the 'Asr prayer until the sun sets and after dawn until the sun rises.

Abu Huraira is reported to have said that the Messenger of Allah prohibited to observe prayer after the 'Asr prayer till the sun is set, and after the dawn till the sun rises.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَهَى عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ وَعَنِ الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ
