Responding to the Call for Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) granted permission to a blind man to pray in his house, but also reminded him of the importance of responding to the call for prayer.

Abu Huraira reported: There came to the Messenger of Allah a blind man and said: Messenger of Allah, I have no one to guide me to the mosque. He, therefore, asked. Allah's Messenger permission to say prayer in his house. He (tee Holy Prophet) granted him permission. Then when the man turned away he called him and said: Do you hear the call to prayer? He said: Yes. He (the Prophet then) said: Respond to it.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a blind man who asked Prophet Muhammad's permission to pray in his house instead of going to the mosque. The Prophet granted him permission, but also reminded him that it was important for him to respond when he heard the call for prayer. This hadith teaches us that even if we are unable or have difficulty performing certain religious obligations, we should still try our best and not neglect them completely. It also reminds us of how important it is for Muslims to respond when they hear the call for prayer and go out and perform their prayers in congregation at mosques.
