The Reward of Praying in Congregation

SUMMARY: Praying in congregation is more rewarding than praying alone.

Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Apostle as saying: The prayer of a person in congregation is twenty-seven times in excess to the prayer said alone.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith from Ibn 'Umar explains the importance of praying in congregation. It states that the prayer of a person who prays with others is twenty-seven times more rewarding than if they were to pray alone. This means that when we pray together with other people, our reward for doing so will be much greater than if we were to pray by ourselves. This encourages us to take part in communal prayers and reminds us of the great rewards that come from doing so. It also teaches us the importance of coming together as a community and uniting through prayer.
