Sahih Muslim 615c (Book 5, Hadith 231) #8545
Delaying Noon Prayer on Hot Days

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised to delay the noon prayer on hot days as the intensity of heat is from the exhalation of Hell.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah said: When it is a hot day, (delay) the prayer till the extreme heat passes away, for the intensity of heat is from the exhalation of Hell. Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah said: Refrain from saying (the noon prayer) till the extreme heat passes away, for the Intensity of heat is from the exhalation of Hell. Abu Huraira narrated this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be up on him) by another chain of transmitters.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that when it is a hot day, we should delay our noon prayer until the extreme heat passes away. This is because the intensity of heat comes from the exhalation of Hell. We can understand this hadith to mean that we should take care and not put ourselves in difficult situations unnecessarily. It also teaches us to be mindful and considerate towards others who may find it difficult to perform their prayers in such extreme weather conditions.
