Timings of Prayers According to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) was asked about the times of prayer and he answered by explaining the timings of each prayer.

Abu Musa reported on the authority of his father that an Inquirer came to the Prophet and asked him about the times of prayers, and the rest of the hadith is the same (as narrated above) but for these words: " On the second day he (the Holy Prophet) observed the evening prayer before the disappearance of the twilight".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ بَدْرِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى، سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ سَائِلاً، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ مَوَاقِيتِ الصَّلاَةِ ‏.‏ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ نُمَيْرٍ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ فِي الْيَوْمِ الثَّانِي

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the timings for prayers according to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He was asked about when each prayer should be performed and he answered that Fajr should be prayed when there is a true dawn, Dhuhr when the sun has declined from its zenith, Asr at a time when if a man goes to a distant place, he can still return before sunset, Maghrib after sunset and Isha after nightfall has set in. He also mentioned that on the second day one should observe evening prayer before twilight disappears. This hadith teaches us that we must pray our five daily prayers at their designated times as prescribed by Allah SWT and His Messenger PBUH. It also teaches us to be punctual in our religious duties so that we may reap its rewards both in this world and hereafter.
