Praying Before the Mosque Was Built

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to pray in the folds of sheep and goats before the mosque was built.

Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah used to pray in the folds of the sheep and goats before the mosque was built.
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ يُصَلِّي فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُبْنَى الْمَسْجِدُ

EXPLANATIONS:
Before the mosque was built, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to pray in the folds of sheep and goats. This hadith shows us that even though there were no mosques at that time, Muslims still found ways to practice their faith. It also teaches us that we should never give up on our faith and always find ways to practice it no matter what obstacles come our way. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us how important prayer is for a Muslim as it is one of the five pillars of Islam.
