The Commandment of Repeating Phrases in Adhan and Iqama

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad commanded Bilal to repeat certain phrases twice in Adhan and once in Iqama.

Anas reported: Bilal was commanded (by the Holy Prophet) to repeat the phrases twice in Adhan, and once in Iqama.
وَحَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ أُمِرَ بِلاَلٌ أَنْ يَشْفَعَ، الأَذَانَ وَيُوتِرَ الإِقَامَةَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the commandment of repeating certain phrases twice during the call to prayer, known as Adhan, and once during the standing up for prayer, known as Iqama. It was narrated by Anas ibn Malik who reported that the Prophet Muhammad commanded Bilal to repeat these phrases. This hadith teaches us that we should follow the instructions of our religious leaders and be obedient when it comes to fulfilling our religious duties. We should also strive to perform our prayers with sincerity and devotion so that we can reap its rewards both in this world and hereafter.
