QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful when performing acts of worship; Do them with intention and purpose even if they are different from what you are used to doing before; Respect religious customs and traditions while being open minded towards change when necessary or beneficial .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's unusual worship practices on the day of the conquest of Mecca. On this day, he performed ablution with one wash and wiped over his socks instead of washing them as usual. When 'Umar noticed this, he asked why the Prophet was doing something different than what he usually did when performing ablution. The Prophet replied that he had done it on purpose, implying that there was a special reason for it which we may not know today but which Allah knows best. This teaches us to be mindful when performing acts of worship and to do them with intention and purpose even if they are different from what we are used to doing before.
