Equal Duration for Prayers

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to spend equal amounts of time in bowing, prostrating, standing after bowing and the interval between the two prostrations.

Narrated Al-Bara': The bowing, the prostrations, the period of standing after bowing and the interval between the two prostrations of the Prophet used to be equal in duration .
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ كَانَ رُكُوعُ النَّبِيِّ وَسُجُودُهُ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَبَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ قَرِيبًا مِنَ السَّوَاءِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to perform his prayers. He would spend an equal amount of time in each part of his prayer - bowing, prostrating, standing after bowing and the interval between the two prostrations. This teaches us that we should be mindful and consistent when performing our prayers so that we can focus on worshipping Allah SWT with all our heart and soul. We should also strive to make sure that each part of our prayer is done with full concentration and devotion so that it can be accepted by Allah SWT.
