The Sun's Resting Place

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) explained that the sun's resting place is under the Throne of Allah.

Abu Dharr reported: I asked the Messenger of Allah the (implication of the) words of Allah, the Exalted: The sun glides to its appointed resting place. He replied: Its appointed resting place is under the Throne.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، - قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الأَشَجُّ، حَدَّثَنَا - وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى ‏{‏ وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَا‏}‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ مُسْتَقَرُّهَا تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ
