Sahih Muslim 150d (Book 1, Hadith 288) #7553
Generosity and Equality in Distribution of Wealth

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us to be generous and not to fight over the distribution of wealth.

The same hadith has been narrated on the authority of Muhammad b Sa'd and these words (are also there): The Messenger of Allah gave a stroke on my neck or between my two shoulders and said: Sa'd, do you fight with me simply because I gave (a share) to a man?

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of generosity and equality when it comes to distributing wealth. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was teaching his companion Sa'd about this important lesson. He asked him why he was fighting with him just because he gave a share to someone else. This hadith teaches us that we should be generous with our wealth and not fight over it or become jealous if someone else gets a share too. We should also strive for equality when it comes to distributing resources so that everyone has an equal chance at success in life.
