QUICK LESSONS:
Speak respectfully at all times

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about respecting the Prophet and not raising one’s voice louder than his. It was narrated by Anas ibn Malik, who said that when a verse was revealed in the Quran which said “Do not raise your voice louder than the voice of the Apostle”, it did not mention Sa'd b. Mu'adh specifically. This hadith teaches us to respect and honour our elders, especially those who are sent by God as prophets or messengers. We should always remember to keep our voices low when speaking to them or around them, so as to show our respect for their position and authority. We should also be mindful of how we speak in general; even if we are talking with someone younger or less experienced than us, we should still maintain a respectful tone and volume level so that everyone can be heard without having to shout over each other.
