Sahih al-Bukhari 7547 (Book 97, Hadith 172) #7249
Reciting Prayer Aloud

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ was reciting the Quran in a loud voice, which caused the pagans to abuse him and the Quran. Allah then instructed him not to recite his prayer aloud or in a low tone.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet was hiding himself in Mecca and used to recite the (Qur'an) in a loud voice. When the pagans heard him they would abuse the Qur'an and the one who brought it, so Allah said to His Prophet: 'Neither say your prayer aloud, nor say it in a low tone'. (17:110)

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful of your actions/words; Respect other people's beliefs; Create an atmosphere of peace & understanding between different groups

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Allah instructed His Prophet not to recite his prayer aloud or in a low tone. The Prophet was reciting the Quran in Mecca, but when the pagans heard him they would abuse both him and the Quran. In response, Allah told His Prophet that he should neither say his prayer aloud nor say it in a low tone. This teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions and words as they can have consequences for ourselves and others around us. We should also be respectful of other people's beliefs even if we do not agree with them, as this will help create an atmosphere of peace and understanding between different groups of people.
