SUMMARY: People who have committed sins will be punished by Hellfire, but Allah will show mercy and admit them into Paradise.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "Some people will be scorched by Hell (Fire) as a punishment for sins they have committed, and then Allah will admit them into Paradise by the grant of His Mercy. These people will be called, 'Al-Jahannamiyyin' (the people of Hell).

QUICK LESSONS:
Ask for forgiveness from God when you commit a sin.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the mercy of Allah in punishing people for their sins. It is narrated by Anas ibn Malik that the Prophet said, "Some people will be scorched by Hell as a punishment for sins they have committed, and then Allah will admit them into Paradise by the grant of His Mercy." These people are called Al-Jahannamiyyin which means 'the people of Hell'. This hadith teaches us that even though we may commit sins, if we repent and ask for forgiveness from Allah, He may show us mercy and forgive us. We should never lose hope in His mercy no matter how grave our mistakes are.
