Sahih al-Bukhari 7199, 7200 (Book 93, Hadith 60) #6915
The Oath of Allegiance to Allah's Messenger

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the oath of allegiance to Allah's Messenger, which includes listening and obeying him, not fighting against the ruler or disobeying him, standing firm for the truth and speaking it wherever we are, and not being afraid of criticism.

Narrated 'Ubada bin As-Samit: We gave the oath of allegiance to Allah's Messenger that we would listen to and obey him both at the time when we were active and at the time when we were tired and that we would not fight against the ruler or disobey him, and would stand firm for the truth or say the truth wherever we might be, and in the Way of Allah we would not be afraid of the blame of the blamers.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about taking an oath to listen to Allah’s messenger. It means that Muslims should always obey what he says even if they are tired or busy with something else. They should also never fight against their rulers nor disobey them. Furthermore, they must always speak up for what is true no matter where they are located in this world. Lastly, Muslims should never be scared by those who criticize them for doing good deeds in God’s way. In other words this hadith teaches us how important it is to stay loyal towards God’s messenger as well as our rulers while also having courage when speaking up for justice no matter what others may think about us.
