Ask for permission before entering someone else’s home

This hadith teaches us that it is important to ask for permission before entering someone's house. This hadith was narrated by Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi, who reported that a man peeped through a hole in the door of Allah's Messenger's house and saw him rubbing his head with an iron comb or bar. When Allah's Messenger saw him, he said that if he had been sure that the man was looking at him through the door, he would have poked his eye with the sharp iron bar. He then added that asking for permission has been enjoined so one may not look unlawfully at what there is in another person’s home without their consent. This hadith teaches us about respect and privacy; we should always be respectful of other people’s homes and not enter them without their permission or knowledge. We should also respect other people’s privacy and not try to peek into their homes or lives without their consent.
