The Nearness of the Hour

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sent by Allah and the Hour is near.

Narrated Anas: Allah's Messenger said, "I have been sent and the Hour (is at hand) as these two (fingers).
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ـ هُوَ الْجُعْفِيُّ ـ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، وَأَبِي التَّيَّاحِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةَ كَهَاتَيْنِ

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, narrated by Anas ibn Malik, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is conveying a message from Allah that he has been sent and that the hour is near. This hadith serves as a reminder to believers to stay vigilant in their faith and practice of Islam as they await for the Day of Judgment. It also serves as an encouragement for believers to remain steadfast in their faith and continue doing good deeds so that they may be rewarded on the Day of Judgment. Furthermore, it serves as a warning for those who are not living according to Islamic teachings; they should repent before it's too late. This hadith also teaches us about patience; we must wait patiently for what Allah has promised us without losing hope or giving up our faith in Him.
