Have sincere fear towards God's punishment when committing sins; repent sincerely out of such fear in order to be forgiven by Him .

This hadith tells us about a man who was worried about the righteousness of his deeds, so much so that when he thought about death, he asked his family to burn his corpse and throw it into the sea if he died. When Allah collected all of this man's particles, He asked him why did you do what you did? The man replied that all that made him do it was fear for God's punishment. Upon hearing this answer, Allah forgave him for all of his sins. This hadith teaches us an important lesson; fear for God is a powerful motivator in repentance and can lead to forgiveness from Him even after committing grave sins. It also shows us how merciful our Lord is; He will forgive those who sincerely repent out of fear for His punishment no matter what they have done before or how many times they have sinned before repenting.
