This hadith highlights the importance of responding with kindness even when faced with hostility or aggression. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was approached by a group of Jews who said “Death be upon you”, which is an expression used as a curse in Arabic culture. Instead of responding in kind, he calmly replied “The same on you”, showing that he was not interested in engaging in any sort of verbal altercation or conflict. He then went on to advise his wife Aisha to remain calm and gentle when dealing with people, even if they are being hostile towards her. This teaches us that we should always strive for peace and harmony instead of engaging in arguments or fights that will only lead to more animosity between people. We should also remember that our words have power, so it is important for us to use them wisely and kindly whenever possible.
