EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains how to send salat upon the beloved prophet of Allah, Muhammad ﷺ and his family. The people asked the prophet ﷺ how they can send salah on him and he replied with a dua that is said in Arabic. The dua starts with “Allahumma Salli 'ala-Muhammadin wa azwajihi wa dhurriyyatihi” which translates to “O Allah! Send your blessings upon Muhammad and his wives and children”. It then continues with “kama sal-laita 'ala 'Ali Ibrahim” which means “as you sent blessings upon Ali Ibrahim”. Lastly it ends with “wa barik 'ala Muhammadin wa azwajihi wa dhurriyyatihi kamabarakta 'ala 'Ali Ibrahim innaka hamidun majid” which translates to “and bless Muhammed and his wives and children as you blessed Ali Ibrahim; You are indeed Praiseworthy, Glorious". Sending salah on the prophet ﷺ is an act of worship that Muslims do regularly as it brings them closer to Allah SWT. It also shows love for our beloved prophet ﷺ who was sent by Allah SWT as a mercy for all mankind.
