QUICK LESSONS:
Lower your gaze ; Refrain from harming others ; Return greeting ; Enjoin what is good ; Forbid what is evil .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that we should always be mindful of our behavior when we are out in public. He said that if we must sit on the roads then we should lower our gaze, refrain from harming others, return greetings with salaam or peace, enjoin what is good or khair in Arabic and forbid what is evil or shar in Arabic. This means that even when we are out in public places like roads or streets then too we should maintain a certain level of decorum and respect for those around us. We should not harm anyone verbally or physically nor should we indulge in any activities which may cause discomfort to those around us. We must also remember to respond positively to any greeting given by another person with salaam as it shows respect for them. Lastly, it is important for us to encourage goodness amongst ourselves by promoting positive values such as kindness and compassion while discouraging negative values such as hatred and violence.
