The Punishment for Making Pictures

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger warned that those who make pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Messenger said, "Those who make these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them'.Make alive what you have created'."
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَصْنَعُونَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرَ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

EXPLANATIONS:
Allah's Messenger warned that those who make pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection. This hadith is a reminder to us all to not create images or pictures of living things as it is considered a sin in Islam. On the Day of Judgment, we will be asked to bring these images to life and if we are unable to do so then we will face punishment from Allah. This hadith teaches us that it is important for us to stay away from creating such images and instead focus our time and energy on more meaningful activities such as worshiping Allah and helping others in need. It also reminds us that our actions have consequences and that we should always strive to do what is right in order for us to receive blessings from Allah in this world and the hereafter.
